WordPress Ping List
Here is a recommended ping list for a WordPress Blog to automatically notify internet sites when new posts are added or changes made. I created this list from my personal experience and various sources on the internet. Every time you post on your wordpress blog these services will notify Blog search engines that you have made a new post on your blog (or edited a post) and increase your wordpress blog’s online visibility. Please note that if you are using the wordpress cart with your blog, there is a separate setting to turn on pings when products are edited or put on special.
If you want to use this list, just follow these steps:
- Logins to your WordPress.
- Go to setting tab.
- Click on Writing Tab.
- Copy and paste this list on the text box given under “Update Services”
- Click “Updates Changes”
Also, as this list is huge (83 services); it may increase the time it takes to save a post. In this case you can use the following short list:

You are awesome! This is exactly the information I needed to help my Dad get the word out about his website.
I use pingler.com which picks up 92 services including pingomatic for another 12+. Yes, you have to enter manually, but it saves most of the info for future use.
I do like your list though and may do a comparison!
Just to confirm: if I put your original huge list in, those services won’t be duplicated by ping-o-matic? And if not, why hasn’t ping-o-matic been updated to include them?

Good Question! Yes it might be possible that few service might be duplicate with Ping-O-matic. However, form my personal experience I did find that this list help a lot!
I can’t tell you why Ping-O-matic include all these.

Please scroll down the page, you will find a Text Box under heading “Update Services”, If its not there there might be possible that your Privacy Setting don’t ping any service. If it is blocked using Privacy Setting and and you want to ping all these services, you may activate that from your “Privacy Setting”, its also under “Setting” Tab.

As we are a Website Promotion service provider, We do research on these regularly. As soon we find any update on this list, we do update them here.
I’m afraid I’m with Pogo on ths one. I’ve thoroughly searched every tab under settings, even to the point of triple checking, and there is no ‘update services’ option. Nor does a search of Worpress’ help menu turn up anything. Can you shed some light?
Does the ping work for pages as well as posts? I have several clients thea I have built their websites in WordPress, rather than as a blog.

I also did not find an Update Services text box under Settings/Writing. My Privacy Setting has 3 options and mine is set to not restrict to anyone/thing. Is it possible ‘ping’ is only for WordPress.org?
