Background:
Sea Star Line is a shipping company dedicated to providing innovative, high-quality transportation solutions, including ships, port facilities, transportation networks, and support systems that work in unison to ensure freight and cargo move seamlessly their destinations. Sea Star offers the most flexible and frequent service to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Tortola.
Challenge:
During the course of the project, Sea Star Line company went through a reorganization and Boomtown needed to create a website to follow.
A company offering shipping services to very specific locations; Sea Star Line had only a few competitors and all of them ranked well on Google and other major search engines. With some strategy, Boomtown turned that around; Sea Star Line is now a prominent and competitive online shipping company that receives a high volume of traffic.
They wanted new look, updated services, relevant onsite information, as well as an eye appealing, user friendly, professional looking, attract users looking for their service.
Website Redesign:
We gathered information from Google Analytics, figured out how visitors were using the Sea Star Line website and determined which resources and information were important to provide. We then developed the corresponding layout that would best display this content. Their website was redesigned accordingly, including a new flash banner to demonstrate geographic position. Sea Star Line now sees almost 20% more monthly visitor traffic—and time spent on site improved by nearly 25%.
We provided Sea Star Line with a clear and concise layout and clean and bright professional look and feel, with a streamlined navigation with links to their services—a horizontal navigation structure with easy drop down menu. The new website structure and reorganization doubled their amount of Pageviews. A new design on front page, updated links and internal pages, and different navigational tabs directed customers to more helpful pages. This site was developed in a search engine friendly manner, with keyword optimized text and unique titles, descriptions, and meta tags.
Pay Per Click:
The Sea Star Line Pay Per Click campaign brought awareness to people who were searching for their services, concentrated in Jackson and Puerto Rico, and locations they ship from. Our targeted Paid Ad efforts bring in approximately 6,000 new visitors every 6 month period.
