 Creation and Integration of WordPress Blog with Website Package

  • Use website CSS to create blog template and set up blog so that it resembles website

Here are the 5 basic reasons why WordPress is better than Blogger –

  1. Ownership and branding – WordPress software installs on the server under your own domain name. This means your blog will live on or With Blogger however, your blog will reside on their server, so the URL will look something like this: WordPress hands over the “Ownership” of the blog to the webmaster, while with blogger, you are under their ownership.
  2. Blogs never go dead – or at least not until you want it off the web. If in any case, your blog is hacked or the database is lost, then you can have a backup from your server, or directly through your host. But in blogger if the same thing happens, you will see a line “Blog not found”. There is very little chance of recovering a deleted blog in blogger.
  3. Categorized blogging – In WordPress, you can have any number tags representing categories and can post in these categories, rather than having no categories and posting random stuff as in blogger.
  4. Plugins for customization – There are thousands of plugins for WordPress to make it easy to use and more search engine friendly. A WordPress blog can be customized and made look like a normal website/forum etc. Blogger doesn’t have this advantage.
  5. Reaching the world through pings – Hundreds of pinging services and blog directories with RSS accept all WordPress feeds and are pinged once and always when a post is published in the WordPress blog, and the pinging in their sites can be automated.

The same isn’t there with blogger and very few blog directories accept feeds from blogger powered sites.

  1. Purpose of blogs (Something like this: The purpose of providing blog functionality on our websites is to foster internal and external communication about topics relating to the company, products and services.)
  2. Bloggers and Blog Publishers Permissions and Responsibilities (Something like this: 1. Permission to create blog postings is given to everyone in the company. They may in turn grant permission to expert guests if they deem it necessary. 2. Each Blogger and their Blog Publisher are responsible for the content appearing in their blogs. Guests may not be blog publishers.)
  3. Topics encouraged in blogs (Here list the topics which will be covered in the blog.)
  4. Topics prohibited in blogs (Here list any topics which will be prohibited in blogs – something like this: Topics inconsistent with the company’s mission statement, Foul or abusive language, Partisan political posts.)
  5. Blog locations (Something like this: 1. Links to blogs may appear on all pages on the site. 2. Links to blog postings should appear in email signatures.)
  6. Submitted comments (Something like this: 1. All comments must be approved by a Blog Publisher before they are posted. 2. If the Blog Publisher chooses to accept comments for a blog, he is responsible to review the comments and approve them to be posted. The Blog Publisher is also responsible for the content of the approved comments.)
